Use an External Monitor with MacBook Pro Lid Closed?

Apple Help has it covered. Search for: Using your portable computer with the display closed

  1. Connect external keyboard or mouse (if USB make sure computer is set to wake when activated)
  2. Close laptop lid
  3. Connect external monitor
  4. Wait
  5. Press button on keyboard
  6. Wait
